Making Money from Home – Actively Pursuing Your Internet Business Online

November 11, 2009 By: Gabe Category: Internet Marketing, Time Management, Uncategorized, making money, online business, success

In the quest for living the dream, there are good decisions, bad decisions and decisions made due to lack of experience.  The Internet is literally filled with possibilities for making money online.  Internet Marketing has made it possible for anyone with the desire to pursue it, to build a more than significant amount of revenue from an Internet Business.

I speak to people all the time about making money online and pursuing a career as an independent Internet Marketer and although it seems EVERYBODY wants to make money online… Almost 95 percent of them won’t take the necessary actions to get there.  The Internet has leveled the playing field so that small businesses can compete fairly well against big business corporations.  Every opportunity exists to find streams of Internet Income from a plethora of different resources all throughout the web.

Making Money from Home - Actively Pursuing Your Internet Business Online

Making Money from Home - Actively Pursuing Your Internet Business Online

So if making money online is so easy to do, why don’t more people do it?

One of my old mentors seemed to explain it best when he said that people don’t do things for two reasons:

1.  They don’t know how to

or…

2.  They don’t want to

With that being said, and the ability to earn a steady income from home through Internet Marketing or other forms of Online business, shouldn’t there be a lot more people making thousands of dollars from the Internet?

What it comes down to is that they may not know how to, but that clearly isn’t why they don’t.

The reason, atleast I feel, that many entrepenuers don’t earn a steady income online is usually due to sheer laziness, lack of organization, self discipline and focus… that’s it!  Atleast when given an appropriate amount of time to do so.

It seems that most people do not want to do the dirty work of figuring things out for themselves.  They will tend to buy just about anything to make making money online a simple automated task.  They fall for “Get Rich Quick” scams only to find that the only person making REAL money online are those selling the get rich quick products and services.

Now for not a single second do I believe every product out there is worthless.  In fact, if recieved from the right sources the information can be priceless.  But for those who truly want to create real Internet wealth, the following need to be perfectly alligned:

1.  A burning desire to achieve greatness!  Now when I say “burning”, I mean you gotta want it like nothing else!  You have to be fierce!  You have to be willing to do what it takes to make things happen.  Without this, you are simply playing a hobby and nothing more.

2.  You must have laser-targeted focus.  You can have all the desire to make money online in the world, but you must harness that desire and be able to commit complete focus to it.  This means being able to cut out distractions and clearing away the things that block your success.  If you don’t know what these things are, then you need to start by identifying them.

3.  You must be open to change.  The Internet marketing world is always changine, day in and day out.  The search engine algorythms change all the time, so does what works and what doesn’t.  Being able to flow and adapt to an ever-changing online world is crucial if you want to achieve long-term success while making money online through Internet Marketing.

4.  You must be willing to do the ground work… the dirty work… the time-consuming tedious work.  While it is true that you should work smarter, not harder, it doesn’t mean you should cut any corners.  I see many affiliate marketers go through the newest top of the line program and then continue doing what they’ve always done.  You have to be willing to do everything necessary to achieve greatness.  The money will NEVER come if you aren’t willing to work for it and accept it.  You may not realize it, but you already know what you need to be doing, but you probably aren’t doing it if you aren’t making serious money online.  If something works for someone and it doesn’t work for you, ask yourself, “why?” – and be severely honest with yourself, you might be suprised by your conclusion.

5.  To make money online through Internet Marketing or any other form of online business you must have structure.  You should have a step-by-step blueprint to success that is 100% replicable and adaptable to change at any given moment… Hence why they say its good to have multiple streams of Internet Income.  Do things that leverage your business and help you in producing long-term quality results.  Again, do not cut corners!  Create or follow someone elses bulletproof process of success.

6.  Never let the thought of success leave your mind.  Always have your head in the game.  Remember, if you truly want to create wealth online, then failure isn’t an option, right?  This goes hand-in-hand with having a burning desire.  You have to mentally prepare yourself for that level of success.  You have to be able to see yourself achieving that level of excellence without a flicker of doubt.  It may be hard to do, but with practice and some creative visualization, nothing will stand in your way.

7.  Do a little bit every day to grow your Internet business online.  Whether its doing a little bit of promoting, some minor tweaks, or sending an e-mail, take steps every day no matter how large or small to grow your Online business.

8.  Be willing to help others, and surround yourself with those who want to see you succeed.  This may sound like new age hippy stuff, but its the real deal.  By helping others to achieve greatness, you in turn, achieve it as well.   Keep in mind the company you keep and strive to meet those that reflect your goals and ambitions.  If someone is truly interested in getting your help, and willing to work for it, then they deserve to have your help.

9.  Surround yourself with success.  Surrounding yourself with success, whether it’s successful people, books, anything successful.  Create an atmosphere of success everywhere you go.  By doing this you will create the necessary environment for you to acheive success.  We are what we most commonly think and do…. Keep this in mind and you’ll go far!

10.  Do everything in your power to not get burnt out through information overload or through the negativity of others.  Don’t fool yourself in to thinking that you can’t do it, because there is no reason why you can’t.  Don’t listen to the nay-sayers, they are most likely jealous of you or are too blind to realize your potential.  Be true to yourself and keep your mind clear and aimed for your goals.

Now this isn’t by any means a specific roadmap to success and making money online through an Internet business, but it definitely lays down some ground rules that have worked for countless others.  Success isn’t about how much money you have, it is a state of mind and a state of being.  Follow these rules and you will attract success and wealth to you from every direction.  Don’t fall for shortcuts… most of time shortcutes are “short comings” – The small details matter and could be the “missing” link to whatever has been holding you back in the past.

To Your Success,

Gabe Killian

Internet Marketing Gurus – What You Need To Know

November 09, 2009 By: Gabe Category: Internet Marketing, Memberships, Time Management, Uncategorized, e-mail marketing, list building, making money, online business, success

In the Internet Marketing world, there are “teachers” and there are “learners” or students.  The Internet Marketing industry is always changing and evolving along with all new ways of doing certain things online.

Internet Marketing Guru

Internet Marketing Guru

The proverbial “Guru” is a term that either makes an entrepenuer excited or almost disgusted depending on their experiences with so called Gurus of the past.  Now the question often comes up “How much weight should I put on any so called Guru I come accross?”

Well, in the name of information overload, it’s highly important to pick and choose your tutors wisely.  It becomes fairly easy over time to spot someone who is truly successful or just talking big with the screenshots of their Google Adsense account or Clickbank account.  Heck, I ran into one just the other day with an obviously altered Adsense check right on their sales copy.  I mean come on, how hard is it really to photoshop anything these days?

Now every now and then I have to take an e-mail list inventory and cut the fat off of the e-mail lists I belong to.  Now, you seriously do not want to cut all ties, because that will only hurt you, your income and any buzz you may want to tap in to.  But you don’t want to get caught up with 350 e-mails from every different list filling up your inbox with useless crap and telling you to buy the next big Affiliate Marketing Tactic, SEO Secret or some untold and mysterious website traffic technique that miraculously happens with a click of a button.  Now anything that easy doesn’t work, and if by some chance it does, it can’t last and won’t put out long-term results.  So keep this in mind.

The people I subscribe to are those that have been good to me by either providing me with quality content and don’t throw sales pitches every e-mail they send.  This is just good business as usual.  A truly expert Internet Marketer (or atleast an expert in e-mail marketing) will build your trust and do their absolute best to earn your trust.  And in return, you may buy a product or two from them instead of from Joe-shmoe Internet Marketing Guru who treats you like a number.

Now only do you want to listen and keep on the lists of those who give you great content and useful information, you’ll also want to take notes on why they are probably so successful and piggyback from their successes.  If it works for them, over time, it can probably work for you too!

Another great way of managing the e-mail lists you belong to is find the top professional on each subject and only subscribe to one pro from each topic you are interested in.  For example, if you wanted to learn more about Internet Marketing with Blogging, you’d probably join Yaro Starak’s mailing list.  If you wanted to learn more about List Building and Opt-ins you’d may want to join Ewen Chia’s e-mail list.  If you wanted to learn more about monetizing your website with Google Adsense Ads, then Joel Comm’s list might be a good one to be on… and so on and so on.

Every Internet Marketer has their strengths, and it’s important to learn from those you feel are the best at what they do, and in return, keep your inbox clear of fluff and useless crap I know you don’t want to have in their.  The Entrepenuers listed above, for example, I feel to be extremely knowledgeable, professional and the best at what they do.

To make a long story short, surround yourself (and your inbox) with those that are successful in what they do, and in turn, you can learn from the best.  Remember, not everyone that claims to be a Guru really is, and most of the time, if they are, they aren’t going to brag about it up and down and make a spectacle of themselves.  Whether you use the term Guru, Teacher, Professional, Trainer, etc. it all comes down to the quality of information in which they do or do not provide.

So take this inconsideration when sifting through hundreds upon hundreds of e-mails in your inbox, and for the sake of filling your brain with valuable information and not information overload.

Gabe Killian

Internet Marketing and the Idea of Success

November 07, 2009 By: Gabe Category: Internet Marketing, Memberships, Time Management, Tools, Uncategorized, article marketing, e-mail marketing, ebooks, list building, making money, online business, social networking, success, web promotion

In the world of Internet Marketing, Mindset is crucial in creating success with your online business.  In order to be successful, one must hold on to the picture of success in their own mind, and NEVER let it go.

The Internet Marketing world is waaay to competitive not to.  Don’t get me wrong, their is tons of room for growth, although many so called “Guru’s” would argue that their is not.  But never has their been more of a need to build an income online, than right now.

In the state of the economy, more and more people are being laid off.  People are losing their jobs and living off of unemployment.  In Oregon and Washington, finding a job is almost a downright joke.

However, when one has a self-sustaining business as an Internet Marketer, they no longer need to wait at the unemployment office.  They’ve taken complete control over their own income and sustainability… atleast ideally.

I’ve written a lot on the mindset of success and it’s importance in the Internet Marketing world.  It is extremely easy to get caught up in the latest marketing craze, whether it’s getting massive traffic free, or a new source of online income, or whatever.  All to often a silent concept is preached in a lot of the sales copies, e-mail copies and in the information products that are being bought day in and day out.  And this “silent concept” is a killer, atleast from an Internet Marketing / Online Business standpoint.  The concept simply states that “The Internet Marketing world is too hard and near impossible… unless you buy my product!”

I mean, as Internet Marketers, we are taught to find the “pain” in people and act on it.  The same principles apply to the brick and mortar sales world.  It can truly make you feel defeated, if not careful and can dampen your spirit, creating a feeling of success being unattainable.

It is extremely important, I mean really, really, really important, that when we look in to the newest information product or Internet Marketing service, to keep in mind the following:

1.  Anyone is capable of success, if willing to accept it and go for it.

2.  Anyone who is willing to put in the effort deserves success.

3.  There is no “eternal” secret to long-term Internet Marketing success.  You simply can’t press a magic button and rake in the cash.  This may work for short term success, but it will never last.

4.  Success is built by endurance and gradual growth and following a system that is time tested and works and being able to make small tweaks or adjustments along the way.

5.  Repetition of a successful system brings more success.

So next time you read a sales letter telling you that you can’t achieve success unless you buy their product, don’t let it fool you.  Yes, information products can teach us successful techniques and provide us with extremely valuable information, but DON’T sell yourself short.  Inside everyone are the keys to success.  Most of us know more about Internet Marketing than we realize and simply cut corners or waste our time on some push-button plan that wastes our precious, valuable time, energy and money.

When it comes down to it, we have to treat Internet Marketing as a true business and not a hobby.  Many of us make that mistake and it takes a lot of time before we realize that is just what we are doing.  When we start taking our success and our Internet Business seriously and take action, then is when we truly achieve Internet Marketing Success.

Til Next Time…

To YOUR Success,

Gabe Killian

Internet Marketing and Defeating Information Overload

November 04, 2009 By: Gabe Category: Internet Marketing, Time Management, Tools, Uncategorized, article marketing, making money, online business, search engine optimization, social networking, success, web promotion

If you’ve spent any time with Internet Marketing and making money online with an online business, then you are probably more familiar with Information Overload than you car to be.

Information Overload is a huge problem within the Internet Marketing, Web Promotion, SEO and Wealth Building Niche.

The Internet is, in its purest form, information.  And more of it than we can even imagine.  You can find out how to do just about anything with a click of a mouse.  Information is readily available, at your fingertips, waiting to be consumed for your pleasure.

internet marketing and information overload

internet marketing and information overload

However, information can be harmful, especially when being in the Internet Marketing business.  It’s a progressive disease too.  More and more information is being offered everyday and it is extremely easy to get caught up in.

From the latest “Next Big Thing” report, to the “Newest SEO Strategy”, it’s almost completely impossible to keep up with everything that’s going on in the Internet Marketing and Online Business world.

More importantly, information overload can distract you from being a functional online entrepenuer.  It can overwhelm you to the point that’s almost debilitating.  It can stop you dead in your tracks from making any progress online, whether you are an affiliate marketer, blogger, Internet Marketing Master, SEO expert, website promoter or any combination of the above.

There is soooo much information to be consumed, that it is simply impossible to do so.  So instead of being the next victim of information overload, consider the following:

1.  Clear out that inbox!  Unsubscribe from all those Internet Marketing “Gurus” that do not provide you with useful information.  However, save the few that do provide you with quality, useful information.

2.  Clear your computer desktop (both digital and tangible desktop).  Give youself some thinking room by organizing your desktop for full efficiency.  Try to put random files in their appropriate places and categorize carefully.  This will help clear your mind and focus more on your work.

3.  Sometimes a “To Do List” Softare can help you stay organized and prioritize what’s most important.  I use To Do DeskList.  It is free, clean, clear and easy to use.  It allows you to put your “To Do” list right on your desktop and prioritizes everything you need to accomplish.

4.  Create an “easy to follow” gameplan for your Internet marketing, website promotion, content creation, link building, article marketing, press release writing, blogging, etc.  Make sure to write it out and keep it focused on ONE THING AT A TIME!  Let me stress the importance of doing things one at a time.  Make yourself focus on just 1 subject at any given time, and force yourself to do nothing more!

5.  Set aside a very specific time for things like reading e-mails, going through the latest and greatest Internet Marketing Product, Reading and commenting on blogs, or just searching the Internet.  Don’t let these things rule your day.  If you give yourself just a little time each day and stick to it, you’ll be a lot less apt to be harmed from information overload.  The rest of the time should be devoted to sticking to your work and not aimlessly reading e-mails or “goofing” around online.  If you are really serious about making money online, you’ll really treat it like an Online Business, instead of a hobby.  Take these words to heart, I can’t stress the importance more than that.

6.  Set aside small break times throughout the day in which to go for a walk, stretch, eat a healthy snack, meditate or whatever to help clear your mind.  This will help with mental exhaustion and keep you from burning out on information overload.

7.  At night, write down one or two things you really want to take care of tomorrow.  This will help you relax and leave your work behind you when you are done.  Information overload can creep up on us, especially at night, when we should be relaxing.  Many Internet Marketers burn the midnight oil, reading emails, going on social networks like Myspace and Facebook, reading e-books and other things that can burn us out if we aren’t careful.  Be mindful of the direction of your thinking and allow yourself to relax when it is appropriate.

8.  If possible, delegate information processing to someone you are working with.  This doesn’t always apply, but if you work with a partner, or a group of people, assign them certain “learning” and “reading” tasks to break up the monotony and help take the weight off of you when working with information.  Spreading information among a group of people can evenly dispurse the information, thus eliminating information overload.

Many successful business people and highly successful Internet Marketers will tell you, “you don’t have to be the best at everything nor do you have to know everything to be successful.”  Many of the most successful entrepenuers in the world rely on a network of people in order to produce results.  They, themselves, don’t have all the answers, but they surround themselves with those who do in specific areas.  Try to focus on being the best at one or two things, and surround yourself with people good at the rest.

By forcing yourself to create good habits in processing information, and by not taking on the world, you can seriously reduce information overload.  Write down your “To Dos” or use a program for it, Stay Organized, and manage your time and you’ll get more done in a day then you ever imagined!

Dave Lakhani, who is an expert in the power of persuasion, has written a book on the subject called “The Power of an Hour Internet Marketing and Defeating Information Overload“, I definitely suggest this book for anyone having trouble with information overload.  It may just be the right kind of information an Internet Marketer really needs!

Easy and Fast List Building Tips for E-mail Marketing

October 30, 2009 By: Gabe Category: Internet Marketing, e-mail marketing, list building, making money, online business, success

In the Internet Marketing world, building a good sized list and keeping your list happy is essential for e-mail marketing success.  Below are some basic list building tips and e-mail marketing strategies that you can use to start making money through e-mail marketing.

list building strategies and e-mail marketing tips

list building strategies and e-mail marketing tips

But first, lets take a look at the numbers!

Let’s say, for arguement sake, you have a list of 5,000 people.  You sell 1 product each month that’s worth $150.00, but…. You offer a special deal of only 19.99.

Now, if 5 out of every 100 people bought your product, that would be a whopping…..  drum roll, please…

$5,000 Dollars in YOUR POCKET IMMEDIATELY

Plus, you can do this over and over again every other week if you want.

Easy and Fast List Building Tips for E-mail Marketing

Easy and Fast List Building Tips for E-mail Marketing

So now you atleast get a little taste of why e-mail marketing should be implemented by every Internet Marketer on every website they make.  Look how many Clickbank advertisers use name squeeze pages to catch leads on their sites.  If you don’t have a list or an auto-responder service, you need to get one now and START BUILDING YOUR LIST RIGHT AWAY!

1.  Use a good auto-responder service.  I recomend either Aweber or GetResponse since they are the two major leaders in e-mail marketing services.  Having a good auto responder service can allow you to not only mass e-mail all of the people on your list, but they can show you how to build your list and keep your list happy.  They provide e-mail marketing tools that can help you achieve success.  I personally I use Aweber and personal feel they are the best in what they do.

Aweber and Get Repsonse E-mail Marketing and List Building Services

Aweber and Get Repsonse E-mail Marketing and List Building Services

2.  Have every site you own capture names and e-mail addresses to build your list.  Both Aweber and GetResponse both provide you with the tools to do so.  Start now, because it will take a while building your list up to where you can start making money from it.  Like planting a seed, and watching it grow, so shall your list!

3.  Give something free or fairly inexpensive for signing up.  Create your own free e-book or some sort of information product as incentive for signing up with your list.  Also, try to throw in some bonuses.  Make your list a bunch of happy subscribers and give them something to remember you by.

NOTE:  You can also imbed your affiliate links in the information products you give out and get sales on the back-end.

4.  Write to your list often.  Don’t let your e-mail subscribers forget about you.  You want them to know who you are, and that your someone important who wants to help them.

5.  Be personal in your e-mails.  Talk about something that happened to you that day, or talk about your family.  Let those on your e-mail list know that their is a living, breathing human behind the e-mails.  Your list will be more in-tuned to buying what you have to offer if you don’t just throw sales pitches at them one after another.

6.  Provide real value.  Don’t just sell products, if you find something cool online, share it with your list.  Give them a reason to trust in you and what you do as a business.  Providing valuable information will also help you build rapport with your prospects.

7.  When building your list, try to narrow down the reach of your list.  Use a little bit of Niche Marketing in your Internet Marketing!  Instead of having an Online business list, try having a list focused on something like “list building” or something of the like.

These are just a few tips on building your list, e-mail marketing and keeping your list loving you and providing you with sales after sales.

Now, if you want to get down and dirty with you list building, I highly suggest getting Ewan Chia’s Opt-In Profits!  Ewan Chia is the HANDS DOWN Master of List Building and E-mail Marketing.

I purchased his product the other day, and I must say, HE definitely knows his stuff.  If you want to succeed in e-mail marketing and make a SIX FIGURE INCOME, I highly suggest getting Opt-In-Profits!
